Between our two children, a girl now almost 6 and a boy almost 2, we have purchased 7 pairs of Tsukihoshi shoes over the years. Two of them in this style - 1 for the girl 1 for the boy. These shoes stand the test of time and use and we will continue to invest in this brand. They fit well and hug the feet with lightweight (but definitely NOT flimsy) support. The stitching and materials have never given out or even shown wear-through despite rough play on concrete and asphalt surfaces. The sole is very flexible and they must be very comfortable as both our kids reach for these shoes first whenever it's time to leave the house. They are washable in the washing machine in cold water and air dry and look great again! They even state that they are treated with tea tree oil and have anti microbial and anti odor properties. Our little girl's first three pair (age 3-4) were outgrown before they ever exhibited any noticeable signs of wear. Our boy is much more rough and we have yet to see, but his first pair are about 4 months old with almost constant daily wear and they look great! I have a feeling he'll grow out of them before they wear out too. I couldn't recommend a better kid's shoe, and we've tried many of the major kids brands. Some kid's shoes seem too heavy or rigid for little growing feet, others just don't seem supportive enough or wear out and don't clean well. These may not have some of the bling that might satisfy the cutesy factor for little girls, but for boys and girl's play and school use, you'll find great color combinations and styles in Tsukihoshi to satisfy, and you will be!

Super flexible soles with vivid colors make these shoes perfect for any fledgling walker on into toddler years and I only wish they made larger sizes. I initially bought these in 2008 for my first daughter and am now purchasing my third pair for my second daughter. They still look like brand new and I have only had to wash them once. The removable soles are great for quick drying, easy cleaning and comfort. Tsukihoshi is my favorite brand for kids' shoes, above all the other "close to bare feet" popular brands - due to the facts that they are wider and provide the proper footfall that actually helped my girls go from just barely walking to running faster than I can catch them. Definitely recommend these to anyone looking for a great deal on simple and stylish sneakers. They are well worth it and are possibly one of the greatest values in children's attire.

my son wears these shoes almost everyday to school. he is 18 months. he can take them off on his own. they are very durable for a really active little boy. they are great for wide feet.
