These shoes looked awesome when they arrived. The workmanship and quality was top notch, something you rarely see for toddler shoes. However, after trying these on, the poor design became immediately apparent. The shoes are far too narrow and the single thin strap with a very small piece of velcro is not enough to hold the shoe on your child's foot. The strap that runs over the child's food is actually secured (sewn) down from where it appears it should pull out to release slack (from the picture, I actually thought the strap zig-zagged across the foot, allowing the strap to be pulled tight and secure, but this was not the case). This results in a very small amount of slack to pull the strap over the child's food. Even for my preemie who is only in the 20% for weight, but 40% in height (i.e. long and skinny feet), this was way too narrow. Although I could get the strap across her foot, it was pulled extremely tight and because the piece of velcro was so tiny, it did not stay secured down. I was super bummed because the shoes were adorable and extremely well made and looked like they would have lasted a long time. Alas, I had to return them.

I bought these shoes for my 5 year old granddaughter, and they are the correct size. However, she says the shoes pinch and I haven't seen her wearing them. I'm thinking it's something about the design that causes the shoes to pinch.

Great shoe! Unfortunately they are a size too big so he will have to wait a little while before wearing them. Good looking shoe!
