I got these for my 6 year old because she was so in love with them but after just a couple of weeks they started coming apart. The canvas is pulling away from the side of the shoe. One of the little lights got stuck on and has been on for two weeks. The lights in that shoe are almost dead now and many of the little sequence have fallen off. I hope they can last a little longer because they were so expensive that I can't afford to buy her some new shoes for a while.

I got these for my five year old who started in kindergarten a month ago. and that's pretty much how long they last...really cute shoes and she loves them. but somehow in one month the sparkles fell, the bottom broke..Well, the lights are still bright and I will let her continue wearing them until they totally fall apart. I may still buy something look like these in the future but won't pay $40 for a pair of shoes that only last a month.

I have to start by saying that my 1st grader definitely LOVES these shoes. But from a parent's perspective, they're disappointing. We've only had them for three weeks, and several of the toe 'twinkles' have already come off. In addition to this, the white canvas the twinkles are sewn onto has come loose from the pink canvas behind it, and there are various threads sticking out all over the shoes. Also, that white canvas is impossible to clean because of all the twinkles in the way, so it's permanently gray now. In other words, they look good for a week or so, but after that they look like they've been worn for a year! ETA: One month later, one of the 'twinkles' has been stuck on for a couple of weeks now, and is almost burned out. None of the other twinkles on that shoe will work while it's stuck on this one, and I imagine that none of them will work at all after that light finally dies. ETA: After a few months, in addition to all the other issues, the canvas is badly pulled apart at most of the seams (including on the Velcro straps!), the color is worn off almost everywhere, most of the twinkles have fallen off, and the lights no longer work. We ended up buying new sneakers just so our kid wouldn't look like a hobo.
