I really love the look of these shoes. My daughter wore them without problems right out of the box (we bought them in a shop where she could try them on, but it seems they were true to size for her). They were comfortable and easy for her to put on herself. They stay on her feet well and are great for playing at the park, running or riding a bike. However, the machine wash aspect has not worked out for us. They did come out of the wash looking cleaner, but ever since then, they have had the worst smell. Whatever green tea thing they use for repelling odors goes away it seems. I can't even stand for her to wear the shoes for a short time since it makes her feet smell so bad. It's a real bummer since the shoes were overly expensive and fun/easy to wear. They go well with all of my daughter's clothes. The soles of the shoes are also showing more wear than shoes should show after 6 months of use. After washing, the velcro straps get lots of little strings that need to be trimmed off. I don't know if I'd recommend these shoes. Maybe others have had better luck with washing them, or have skipped that part entirely. The insole just gets gnarly black after wearing for some time. I haven't found kid shoes that hold up well, but we're still looking! I truly hoped this brand would be "it" since my daughter loved wearing them so much! I tried baking soda under the sole insert, but it hasn't worked. We're going to try one last wash and if that doesn't help with the smell, we have to get rid of them.

My daughter loves these shoes, they match most of her clothes, and are holding up well after 2 months of wear. The shoe is a size smaller than she is wearing in other shoes, but it's still big on her feet...so order small!! We have been up to this point buying See Kai Run/Elevens shoes, which we love, but the price on these shoes were much lower, and I feel the quality is comparable. The only difference is that the sole is slightly less flexible than the See Kai Run's/Elevens. We are picky about the shoes for our kids, and these pass the test.

These shoes are kind of expensive, but worth it. I ordered these last year for my 5 year old daughter and they lasted a year (I always order a little large to allow for growth). They do run big, but they really hold up to wear and tear.
